Shemeka Renae Carter was born June 14, 1979 to Donald Hachet and Carrie Lee Carter.  She passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2018.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, LaTonya Carter; and grandparents, Dorothy Carter, Warren Matthews, and Wallace (Eliza) Hachet.

She leaves to cherish her memories 3 daughters, Khadijah Carter, LaToya Huling, and I'janea Jordan; son, Ja'Cion Carter; 2 granddaughters, Selona Brannon and I'yonna Shuff; 3 sisters, Treva Carter, Tory (Darryl) Love, and Robin Hachet all of Winston-Salem, NC; brother, Stanley Dalton; 8 nephews, 4 nieces, 2 great-nieces, 2 great-nephews; 2 aunts, Sandra Smith and Janice Roberts both of Winston-Salem, NC; great-uncle, Jesse (Mary) Jones of Walkertown, NC; God-aunt, Beverly Bishop; and a host of other relatives and friends. Shemeka was well-known and loved by everyone.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, May 4, 2018 at First Waughtown Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Bishop officiating. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 12noon on Friday at the Church.
