Obituary

Mr. Shelton E. Penn was born December 15, 1959 in Winston-Salem, NC, the first born child to Willie E. Penn, Jr. and Annette J. Penn.  He departed from this earthly life on Thursday, November 23, 2017.

He attended the public schools, graduating from Parkland Senior High School.  He also went on to graduate from Forsyth Technical Community College as a maintenance technician.  Shelton went on to get his NC State License to open his own maintenance service.  He was a member of Hanes Memorial CME Church, attending as long as his health permitted.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annette Penn; sister, Ernetta G. Penn; and his grandmothers, Minnie T. Penn and Lucille G. Farris.

Shelton leaves to cherish his precious memories his three children, Hason Z. Wright, Toran M. Gaskins, and Tiffany Bellamy; grandchildren, Toriyanna Gaskins, Breyanna Six, Juliyanna Davis, and Nyemiah Smith; father, Willie E. Penn, Jr.; sisters, Birdie A. (Richard) Penn, Teresa B. (Norvell) Penn, and Maxine Turner; aunts, Doris Penn and Alma Penn; uncle, Thomas (Voronia) Penn, Sr.; niece, Sade' V. Penn; nephew, Rashad A. Penn, Sr.; great-nephews, Jo'con X. Penn and Rashad A. Penn, Jr.; great-niece, AliYanna E. Penn; cousin, Thomas Penn, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Hanes Memorial CME Church.  Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery.  The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Wednesday at the Church.
