Sheila Yvonaie Alick, 58, was born on February 4, 1959, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Clayton and Maxine Beverly Alick. God called her home on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.
She was a graduate of Winston Salem State University and at the time of her passing a graduate student at the Wake Forest University School of Divinity. A devoted Christian to her faith, Sheila became a minister. Sheila was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She loved singing and was a member of the Renaissance Choir. She had an endearing love for children and earlier in her career worked for Child Protective Services of Forsyth County. Sheila became a Certified Nursing Assistant specializing in working with "special needs" infants and children. She was a veteran of the United States Army where she served with honor.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clayton Alick.
She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Jennifer JaNelle Benbow; her mother, Maxine Beverly Alick; a brother, Eric James (Vanessa) Alick; two sisters, Donna Alick Richardson and Ellen Alick Smith; an adopted sister, Lorraine (Chris) Beatty; and a loving and devoted friend, Darryl Benbow.
Homegoing services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, December 18, 2017 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Monday at the Church.
