Shawn D'Andre Carter, Sr. aka "Cornbread" was born January 6, 1974 in Winston- Salem, North Carolina to Paul Carter (deceased) and Sarah Hill Carter. Shawn went home to be with his lord and savior on July 16, 2022, at the age of 48.

Shawn was a loving friend, son, father, relative and authentic socialite. He touched everyone's life that he came in contact with. Shawn has always been an ambitious, loving, loyal person. He attended the Winston-Salem/ Forsyth County school system. Shawn was a believer in God, read the Bible and prayed everyday. Shawn adored music, singing, poetry, drawing and art.

He is survived by his son, Shawn D. Carter Jr.; loving mother, Sarah Hill Carter; brother, Darrell C. Hill (Donna); sister, Brittney Carter; aunt, Barbara H. Glenn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Shawn will be remembered for his loving energy, authenticity, smile, laugh, and talents.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00noon Monday, July 25, 2022 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00noon on Monday at the Chapel.
