Born 29 Sept 1952 in Reading, PA to the late Myrtle Banner Coad and Don S. Coad Sr., Sharon D. Coad was the second eldest of nine children.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Rickey T. Coad, Ronald P. Banner, Don S. Coad Jr. and a devoted friend, Bernard Byrd. Sharon received her education from Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools. Sharon migrated to New York, where she was employed with the Wall Street Journal as a Stock transferrer. Upon returning to North Carolina, Sharon was employed at her family's well known restaurant, Geno's Drive in. She was also a secretary for many companies; to include the Urban League of Winston Salem, then the Housing Authority of Winston Salem until her health declined her.

Sharon D. Coad leaves to cherish the memories of her life, her daughter's, Stacey C. Coad, Shavonda Henderson Inge (Alfred), Myrtle Coad & Tavonda Coad; 16 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren; her siblings, Darrell Coad, Craig Coad, Debra Coad, Chiquita Coad and Sharpe Pitts (Carla); and a host of other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The moments with family and friends will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Tuesday at the Chapel.
