Obituary

Sergeant Major Bobby Clark III, 49, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his Oceanside, California home on July 21, 2021. Bobby was a decorated Marine who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, defending this great nation.

Sgt Maj. Bobby Clark, III was born on August 14, 1971, in Winston-Salem, NC, to his parents Bobby Clark, Jr. and Sharon Clark. A graduate of Carver High School in 1989, Bobby took on the challenge of being a United States Marine. He attended bootcamp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina, in October 1989.

Sgt Maj. Bobby Clark, III was an accomplished and dedicated Marine who served his country for nearly 32 years. During his military career, he held numerous prestigious positions, from the legendary Marine Corps Drill Instructor to the Sgt Maj. of 1st Recruit Training Battalion. During his illustrious career, he reached the highest rank an enlisted Marine could achieve.

Sgt Maj. Bobby Clark, III was a Marine's Marine and lived by the Core Values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment. He influenced and touched the lives of thousands of Marines throughout his military career, and to this day, many use him as an example for them to emulate.

As much as Bobby was dedicated to the Marine Corps and those he led, he was a loving husband and father first. From the first time he laid eyes on his adoring wife 16 years ago, he instantly knew that he found his forever. And since that day, they have been inseparable.

Bobby was a man of high morals and values and kept God first. He had an aura about him that generated energy that was magnetic. Bobby had a dominant presence that would yield immediate respect. He was straightforward and always made it clear how he felt. Beneath his hard shell, Bobby was a gentle giant who was quiet yet funny, reserved yet charming, stubborn yet caring. He kept his circle small and would give you the shirt off his back. He was honorable, charismatic, and had a smile that you would never forget.

The beautiful memories of his life will be forever cherished by his devoted wife, Taria Clark; their two daughters, Camille and Makenzie; his three children, Bobby Clark IV, Branden Clark, and Ashleigh Clark; his mother, Sharon Clark; father, Bobby Clark, Jr.; stepmother, Alice Clark; father-in-law, Robert Williams; and mother-in-law, Kathy Williams. He also leaves behind his siblings, Michael Fulton, Mia Fulton, Shrieka Clark, LaMonica Clark, Robert Astrop, and an abundance of family and friends who will continue to honor him and carry on his legacy.

There will be no public viewing.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Phillips Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in Salisbury National Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am on Wednesday at the Church.
