Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. 2 A time to be born, and a time to die;"
Sergio Shea White, age 52, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning, February 5, 2021. He was born December 14, 1968, to the late Reginald White Sr. and Shirley Warren White. Sergio was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School district. Upon graduation, he proudly served in the United States Marines Corps and was a Desert Storm veteran. Sergio, affectionately known as "The Serge", had an infectious and charismatic laugh, a twinkling smile, and exquisite gourmet cooking skills. Serge was a patriot. He boldly supported and courageously defended his country. The zeal Sergio had serving his country was the same deep passion he possessed for his beloved family. He would always check on everybody to make sure they were "good." Sergio had a passion for the soothing vibes of R&B music. He also enjoyed playing the piano, which he found to be ministry to his soul.
Sergio was raised in St. Paul United Methodist Church in his hometown of Kernersville, NC. Under the mentorship and impactive teaching of Pastor Oscar Pilson, Sergio rededicated his life to Christ and began embracing the Word of God. In 2015, he transferred to his wife's home church, First Waughtown Baptist Church under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Dennis Bishop. Dr. Bishop recognized Sergio's strong stature, protective nature and vigilant demeanor and encouraged him to serve on the security ministry. The members of FWBC felt safe and secure when Sergio was serving.
Sergio was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved grandmother, Lucille Chambers Warren; and several aunts and uncles, all who had a unique and integral role in his life.
He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 13 years, Sandra White; three children, Quinton D'Shea White, Alexis Morgan White, and Latisha Nicole Thompson (Harold); nine grandchildren, Karter, Kayson, Kendyl, Maddox, Cameron "CJ", Reign, Caleb, Alanah, and Elijah; Sergio also leaves to cherish his memory three siblings, Reginald White, Jr. (Angela), Ashley S. White, and Shannon White Goins (Hiram); a beloved aunt, Sylvia Brooks; an uncle, Joseph D. White, Jr. (Dora) of Gary, IN; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family who love him dearly.
