Sean Edward Johnson, 49, was born on June 6, 1969 in Queens, New York. He is the son of Mary Alice Johnson and the late Willie Edward Johnson. Sean attended the public schools of Queens, New York, before relocating to Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The earthly phase of his life ended in Winston-Salem, NC unexpectedly on December 1, 2018. Sean loved life and lived it to the fullest. He touched many lives and will always be remembered for his hearty laugh; great sense of humor, and wisdom shared from his life experiences. Sean formed bonds with those he held dear and was always concerned about others, whether family or friends. His legacy of making every person he met instantly comfortable will be carried on by the countless many he left behind, and the countless many whose lives are forever changed because of him. Sean's presence was a unique gift to the world and he will be sorely missed.

Those who have been most keenly touched and share most deeply his memory include his mother, Mary Alice Johnson; one son, Erik Hunter; one sister, Hope Johnson; five aunts, Bettye Dean, Lois (Eric) Morris, Lucille (Andrew) Townsend, Bertha Tyson, and Rosa (Butch) Winston; three uncles, James (Daisy) Callahan, James Johnson, and Thomas (Denise) Johnson; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Friday at the Chapel.
