Reverend Seal E. Tyndall of 3845 Northampton Drive passed away Thursday morning, May 31, 2007. He was born on February 22, 1931 in Lumberton, NC to Allen and Julia Tyndall.
Reverend Tyndall received his elementary education in the Lumberton School System. As a young man, he moved to Winston-Salem, NC where he completed his secondary education at Carver High School. After serving in the Korean Conflict, he returned to Winston-Salem and attended Winston-Salem State University, Piedmont Bible College and Winston-Salem Bible College where he is an alumnus. After 38 years of service, he retired from R.J. Reynolds.
Rev. Tyndall began his pastorate at Friendship Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC in 1962. He retired after 43 years of service and in 2005; he became the co-pastor and founder of Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church, located in the Boston-Thurman St. area. Tyndall Street was named by the City of Winston-Salem in his honor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Enoch, Eli, David, and James; and one sister, Cleo.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Edwards Tyndall of the home; one daughter, Eleanor Tyndall-Jackson and son-in-law, Hezekiah Jackson of Walkertown, NC; two grandchildren, Stephen Tyndall-Jackson and Kiah Renee` Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Thursday, June 7, 2007 at the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where the pastor is the Reverend Samuel J. Cornelius officiating and the Reverend Gary Walker of Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church as the eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 7pm until 9pm on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
