Savannah Mitchell, age 87, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024. She was born on April 28, 1937, in Kernersville, North Carolina, to the late Ida Mae and Manuel Crews.

Savannah was one of 11 siblings, growing up in a close-knit and loving family. She attended Carver High School and later pursued further education at Forsyth Technical Community College. A lifelong learner, she was passionate about self-improvement and dedicated herself to seeking knowledge in all areas of life.

Throughout her life, Savannah had a deep love for travel. She especially enjoyed visiting New York City, which she often called her favorite destination. She also cherished cruising and spending quality time with her family, creating countless happy memories that will forever live on in their hearts.

Savannah was known for her vibrant personality and her love of music, which was a constant companion throughout her life. Whether surrounded by family or enjoying a quiet moment, she brought joy and energy to any room. Her laughter, warmth, and passion for life made her the life of the party.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Mae and Manuel Crews.

She is survived by her four daughters, Vanessa Crews, Beverly Crews, Mona Clements (Jimmy), and Joyce Jenkins ( Derek); five grandchildren, LaShanda Crews, Karon Crews, Cydney Crews, Zorrie Williams, and Lauren Jenkins; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Savannah will be remembered for her kindness, joyful spirit, and unwavering love for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel in Winston-Salem, NC.
