Mrs. Sarah Beatrice Smith, 79 departed her earthly home on June 25, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. "Bea" as she was known, was born in Winston-Salem to Brady, Sr. and Sarah Steele on April 29, 1931.
"Bea" attended Atkins High School and traveled throughout the US and Germany while her husband served in the military.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William L. Smith; and four of her siblings, Dorethea, Aaron, Brady, Jr. and Johnny Steele.
She is survived by her son, Jahn Smith; stepson, Warren Williams; two grandchildren, Candace and Trey Smith; a sister, Frances Page (Hawthorne); two devoted nephews, William Steele and James Steele; a devoted niece, Pamela Farabee; and a host of other relatives,in-laws, the Stokes Family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Thursday at the funeral home.
