Mrs. Sarah Patricia Covington Wade, affectionately known as "Pat" or "Aunt Pat" departed this life on Sunday, November 25, 2007 after a period of illness.

She was a member of Macedonia Worship Center and a member of the Mother Board. She was also a long-standing member of The Ladies of Distinction Social Club, LOD's of Winston-Salem.

Mrs. Wade retired from The Summit School after 38 years of service as a cook; moreover, she enjoyed feeding the neighborhood children.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eller Covington and one son, Michael L. Wade.

Mrs. Wade leaves to cherish fond memories a devoted and loving son, Kerry M. Wade; her mother, Odessa Covington; two sisters, Lee Ester (Sonny) Wright and Delray Smith Cox; four nieces, Katrina (Steve) Bullock, Rita Smith Oti, Latoya Wright, and Monnette Smith; two nephews, B.A. and Marcus (Ashely) Smith; a host of great nieces & nephews, Jasmine, Deante, Kedron, Jamaal, Jahnay, Deja and Jacobe; God-children, Robert L. Barrett and James T. Barber; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday, November 29, 2007 from the Macedonia Worship Center with Apostle S.D. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Thursday at the Church.

The family wishes to extend thanks to the nursing staff of Salem Kidney Center, Calvin Scott (trans- aid driver), the staff of Kindred Care Center and Baptist Hospital 4C Intensive Care Unit.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salem Kidney Center and Feed the Children Foundation.
