Mr. Sanford Michael Crosby, "Speedy" departed this life on Saturday, March 28, 2009 unexpectedly at the Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center.

He was born October 5, 1960 to Andrew Crosby, Sr. and Janie C. Jenkins. Mr. Crosby worked for Family Services Head Start for 14 years and was a graduate of Parkland High School.

He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Ernest Jenkins and Andrew Crosby, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Janie C. Jenkins; two brothers, Dr. Thomas C. Coaxum and Anthony D. Jenkins; seven sisters, Patricia J. Wallace, Delores Crosby-Edwards, Janie J. O'Neill, Priscilla J. Green (Walter), Ophelia J. McCloud all of Winston-Salem, NC, Dorothy Crosby of Anderson, SC and Bertha Dixon of Miami, FL; best friends, William Miller and Barbara Norman; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Homegoing services will be held at 12:30pm Thursday, April 2, 2009 from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Serenus T. Churn officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12Noon until 12:30 on Thursday at the Church.
