Sandra Elaine Tyson Patrick, 73, was born July 22, 1950 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Betty Tyson Caldwell of Winston-Salem and Johnie Poole of Bronx, New York. She was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Dennis Leach Sr., Pastor. There, she thoroughly enjoyed attending the Senior Women's Bible Study group taught by First Lady Rev. Dr. Charolette Leach until her health declined.

Sandra attended the local public schools and was a graduate of Atkins High School and Forsyth Technical Community College with an associate's degree in Human Services Technology-Gerontology. Sandra was the owner and operator of two businesses: Small Steps Daycare and Sandy's Natural Curl Salon. Around town she was affectionally known as the baddest curl lady in Winston-Salem.

Sandra was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Ezel and Vivian Tyson; parents, Betty Tyson Caldwell and Johnie Poole; and brother, John K. Poole, Jr. formerly of Bronx, NY.

Sandra leaves to cherish her beloved son, Chris Pauling, Sr. whom she adored tremendously; her brothers, Joe "Ronnie" (India) Caldwell, Jr. of Conyers, GA, Kevin (Cassandra) Caldwell, Sr. of Kernersville, NC, and Milton Poole of Bronx, NY; one sister, Jennifer Poole of Bronx, NY; Sandra had one granddaughter, Jacques Chappell; three grandsons, Chris Pauling, Jr., Alonzo Winfield, and Antonio Pittman; one great-granddaughter, Krislynn-Ivy Wardlow whom she cherished dearly; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones;  special friends, Linda Gunthrop, Jennie Hennie, Valjean Griggs, Thurmond Simpson, Sr., and Brendora Petree; a devoted cousin and caregiver, Rita Lane whom she loved very much; and special recognition to Latrice Smith who exemplified agape love throughout the illness of Sandra. Latrice went above and beyond to ensure Sandra was well taken care of during her period of illness.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, August 4, 2023 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Dennis Leach, Sr. officiating.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Friday at the Church.

The family will meet with friends and family at the home of her son Chris Pauling Sr.
