Ms. Sandra Ann McKay Hazel was born to Frances McKay Taylor and James Rogers on June 4, 1966 in Winston-Salem, NC.  Sandra graduated from South Park High School, was an employee at Bell and Sons Cafeteria for over 20 years, and then transitioned for Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in the dietary department.  Sandra was a member of Union Baptist Church where she was a part of the mass choir.  Sandra better known as "Sand", had a huge heart and would truly give you the world if she could.  Sand loved to cook and enjoy life.

She leaves to cherish precious memories her two sons, Darrel, Jr. and Andrew Hazel; five grandchildren, Ny'eria Hazel, Kader McMullen, Ae'bah Hazel, Amir Hazel, and Ely'Jah Furches; one brother, Eric McKay; two sisters, Delaine (Reginald) Jackson and Frankie Wiley; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and special loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2:00pm on Monday at the Chapel.
