Sammy Lee Mitchell was born August 8, 1955 in Winston-Salem, NC to Mrs. Mattie R. Mitchell and Mr. Melvin Foster. He departed this earthly life on May 4, 2013.

Sammy was a 1975 graduate of West Forsyth High School and a former employee of AZ Store on Patterson Ave.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Tammicia Carter and Tameka Rickard both of W-S, NC; one son, Sammy Mitchell, Jr. of W-S, NC; two sisters, Kathy Mitchell-LaBlanc of Baltimore, MD and Pastor Carolyn Mitchell of Ft. Wayne, IN; one brother, Michael Mitchell of W-S, NC; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Reginald Harris officiating. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Thursday at the Chapel.
