Mrs. Ruth Roberta Donnell Eccles passed away quietly and peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born September 15, 1923 in Guilford County, NC.

Mrs. Eccles attended Bennett College and UNC-Chapel Hill. She began her nursing career early in life and retired from Forsyth Medical Center in 1987 with 42 years of service as a Head Nurse.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Jesse Donnell; her husband, Dallas C. Eccles, Sr.; sister, Elizabeth Donnell Taylor; and her niece, Judy Taylor.

She leaves to cherish precious memories her beloved son, Dallas C. Eccles, Jr. (Doris); from this branch sprouted two grandchildren, Dallas C. Eccles, III and Dione C. Eccles; three great-grandchildren, Payton Eccles, Maliyah Eccles ,and Savannah Eccles; brothers-in-law, David Eccles (Francine) and Lawrence Murray, Sr.; sister-in-law, Maybelle Eccles; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Monday, December 8, 2014 at Carver Road Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory, Clemmons, NC. The family moments of visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Monday at the Church.
