Mrs. Ruth Steele Best was born in Winston-Salem, NC on May 5, 1929 to Mrs. Edith Black Blair. She departed this life on December 7, 2011 after an extended period of illness.
She leaves to mourn their loss her son, Kenneth Jordan Bess of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Shirley Bess Agee of the home and Beverly Ann Bess of Philadelphia, PA; eight grandchildren, Margaret Bess, Dionne Bess Martin, and Clarissa Bess of Philadelphia, PA, Kamella Baldwin and Jordan Bess of Charlotte, NC, Lehrman Bess of Lewisville, NC, and Beverly and Hezikiah Thomas of Tampa, FL; seventeen great-grandchildren; special cousins, Helen and Raymond Johnson; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 12noon Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Todd Fulton officiating.
