Obituary
Mr. Russell Rice, Sr. was born May 26, 1942 to Obie & Lillie Rice in Forsyth County.
Russell gained his wings on February 16, 2016 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by his family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Phyllis K. Rice; three sisters; and six brothers.
His infectious smile and outgoing personality will forever be cherished by his children, Russell Rice, Jr., Sharon (Emmanuel) Porter, and Renee Boles; four grandchildren, Denzel Rice, Paige Rice, Latashia Porter, and Tatiyana Porter; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Carl (Barbara) Rice, Wilbert Rice, and John Rice; one sister, Argentina Rice Nelson of Orlando, FL; a special niece, Chevy Rice Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Central Triad Church, 2935 Cole Rd. W-S, NC 27127 with Pastor Leroy Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
