Mr. Russell L. Moore was born on May 2, 1971 to the late Carsandra M. Koger in Winston-Salem, NC.  He departed this earthly life on August 1, 2023.

Russell was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Schools and was a graduate of East Forsyth High School where he was a football player. He was loved by so many people.

Russell was a former employee of Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office in Charlotte, NC. When he moved back to Winston-Salem, he was employed for 12 plus years with IFB, formerly Industries for the Blind, where he met his wife, Tammy Moore.

He was a devoted father, a true family man, the man of the kitchen especially when it involved his famous mac & cheese by high request.

He leaves to cherish dear and precious memories his wife, Tammy Moore; two daughters, Kalie Lassiter and Chantel Moore of the city; three grandchildren, Eva Moore, Raelyn Moore, and Bentley Moore; two sisters, Latrice Dockery and SheKetha Moore of the city; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Monday, August 7, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Latrice Dockery officiating.  The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Tuesday at the Chapel.
