Mrs. Ruby Carr Williams, 83, formerly of 2641 Bluebird Lane, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after several months of declining health.
She was born on October 6, 1927 to John Robert and Maggie Carr in Goldsboro, NC. She attended the local Duplin County Schools.
Mrs. Williams held many employment positions throughout her life but was most proud of her roles as wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Williams was a member of St. Peter's World Outreach and had an unwavering love of Jesus Christ and a deep devotion to living by the word of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Ledell Williams; brother, Robert Carr; son-in-law, Ronald Thomas; and grandchild, LaMario Clemmons.
Surviving are her six children, Queen Sims, Katrina Thomas, Andrew (Lora) Carr, Ardeicha Dee (Cecil) Oliver, Matthew (Cynthia) Williams, all of Winston-Salem and Michael (Carol) Williams of Youngsville, NC; brothers, William Daniel Carr and Amos Carr; sisters, Adele Keith and Thelma Taylor; sisters-in-law, Lucretia Powers and Arlene Crettie; brothers-in-law, Arlander Williams and Cedric Williams; 14 grandchildren; and 3 great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Monday, November 22, 2010 at St. Peter's World Outreach Center, 3683 Old Lexington Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27107. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Monday at the church.
