Obituary

Ruby Mae Smith Greene

May 8, 1939 – July 24, 2020

On Friday, July 24,2020, Ruby Mae Smith Greene answered the call of our Lord and Savior surrounded by her grandchildren and was gracefully escorted to take her place in her heavenly home.  Ruby Mae was born in Darlington, South Carolina, May 8, 1939 to the late Ada Smith and William D. Young.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter Willette Scott and son Gregory Smith.

Ruby Mae matriculated in the Darlington County Schools.  Ruby Mae retired from Cintas Corporation in 2017 after 25 years of service.  She mostly recently worked for the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools in the cafeteria until her health started to decline.

Ruby Mae was a giver until the end.  Ruby Mae's infectious smile would light up the room.  She worked tirelessly in being the individual that you could count on to be there in any given situation.  She never grew tired and always was willing to do whatever to easy the burdens of others.  Ruby Mae was a loyal and dependable family member and friend to all that encountered her.

Ruby Mae was a member of New Jerusalem where she volunteered in many capacities in helping the elders until her health declined.
