Roslyn Denise Searcy-Young, 59, affectionately known as "Queen", was unexpectedly welcomed home into the kingdom of heaven at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center on July 22, 2018. Those of us blessed to know this amazingly brilliant, gifted, versatile, loving, and phenomenally special woman, understand that mere words aren't enough to express the lasting impact she has eternally imprinted on our lives. She was truly so many different things to so many different people. Loving and devoted mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, prayer warrior, counselor, care-giver, friend…. just to name a few.
Her unconditional love of her family, unflinching faith in God, unbreakable spirit, relentless drive and work ethic, genuine compassion, selfless philanthropy and overall zest for life were unmatched. Whether you were family, friend, co-worker, complete stranger or even foe, no matter what your struggle was, she was always willing to help in any way she could. Be it through her generosity, spiritual guidance, or inspirational words of wisdom. As we celebrate her life and her journey on to eternal glory, remember to honor her legacy by continuing to keep her in your heart and be a blessing to whomever may need you that same way she was a blessing to us all. Ask yourself, what would Roslyn say? What would Queen do? And as she would say, "Always keep God in your life because when you walk with God, even in your darkest hour, you are never alone. He loves you even more than I do."
