Obituary
Mrs. Rosie Mae Freeman McKoy, 79, passed away September 20, 2014. She was born July 10, 1935 to Nancy Williams Boyd and Charlie Freeman.
Mrs. McKoy was a member of Phillips Chapel Baptist Church where she served on the Deaconess Board and the Gospel Choir until her health began to fail.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Abra R. Allen; grandson, Shawte' Staggers; and her brother, Johnny Williams.
She is survived by her spouse, William H. McKoy; children, Johnny (Sandra) Staggers, Mildred Robinson, Kathy Stewart, Pamela McKoy, Myra (Thedore) McCullum, and Shannon McKoy; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren all of the city; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Phillips Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Chad Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Thursday at the Church.
