Rosetta J. Harris, 87, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away in death March 7, 2021. She was born on January 19, 1934 to the late Rosa E. Gholson and James Jones of Dinwiddie Co., VA.
Mrs. Harris was loved for her compassion of people and her lovely smile. Many have said that she was the most understanding person that you could talk to.
She lived in Petersburg, VA for many years, and was known for her devotion to her children and to her husband the late James W. Harris "Bro".
In the year 2013, she became one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was loved by many in the congregation. She had strong faith that Our Father, Jehovah, by means of his Son, Jesus Christ, will remember her and resurrect her to life on Paradise Earth.
She succumbed to a lengthy illness in her home surrounded by family members.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Joyce Jones and Janet Bethea; two sons, James W. Harris, Jr. (Nancy) and Ricky Harris; eleven grandchildren, Dr. Wondiful Colbert (Dr. Dwight) of Texas, Wyman Bethea Jr. (Amy), Shawnrell Blackwell, Olympia Kitt, Sianna Scott, Natasha Harris, James W. Harris II, Jamal Muhammud, Sida Muhammud, Miles Harris and Ebony Harris; seventeen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Daisy Johnson, Dorothy Lewis and Rebecca Hudgins all of Petersburg, VA; one sister-in-law, Mary F. Mitchell of Petersburg, VA and her children; devoted niece, Lorraine Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews; many more relatives and friends in her faith, and past communities that she lived.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00am Saturday, March 13, 2021 in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
