Rosa Lee Webster was the third girl born to Herman and Cora Brown on December 29, 1921 in Augusta, GA where she received her early Christian training.
Rosa was united in holy matrimony to Lewis G. Webster in June of 1940. This union produced two children, Lewis G. Webster Jr. and Angella W. Brown.
In 1944 Rosa migrated to New York City and pursued a career in beauty culture at Apex Beauty School. She became a prominent beauty salon operator for 10 years. She began working for the business office of the I.L.G.W.U.( International Ladies Garment Workers Union) in 1955 until she retired.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son; and her sisters, Ethel B. Sims and Eula Mae Steward.
Rosa departed this life on December 31, 2009.
She is survived by her daughter, Angella W. Brown; four grandchildren, Amory` M. Brown, Alicia M. Brown, and twins Kenneth and Kendall Ward; five great-grandchildren; Amory` M. Brown II, Askia M. Brown, Amia M. Brown, Avery M. Brown, and Destinee K. Ward; one great- great-grandchild, Amerie Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
A funeral mass will be held at 10am Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Saint Benedict the Moor Catholic Church with Father Lawrence Heiney officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
