Mother Rosa Lee Wilson Lockhart, 85, of 2783 Reynolds Park Rd. passed away peacefully Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Winston-Salem Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Anderson, SC and moved to Winston-Salem, NC at a very young age.
She was educated in the WS/FCS System and completed her education at Atkins High School. Mother Lockhart was a faithful and dedicated member of Mount Calvary Holy Church ever since 8th & Linden Street, where she served faithfully on the nursing board until her health began to fail.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Mack Wilson; her husband, Lee Lockhart; two daughters, Patricia and Loretta Lockhart; and two brothers, Joe Wilson, Sr. and James Wilson, Sr.
Mother Lockhart leaves to cherish her memories her sister, Mother Marie Thomas of W-S, NC; daughters, Wilma Samuels of Washington, DC and a devoted daughter, Janice Fay Oliver of W-S, NC; eight grandchildren, Joseph C. (Bonnie) Harrison, Thomasina R. Samuels, Lisa Sides, Nathan (Demetric) Lockhart, Rogerick Lockhart, Nitika Lockhart, Patrick (Crystal) Lockhart, and Demario Green; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; one Godson, Jerry Thornton; two Goddaughters, Evangelist Beverly Miller and Minister Eva Diallo; her church family of Mount Calvary Holy Church; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Mount Calvary Holy Church with Dr. Tejado W. Hanchell officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
