With heavy hearts and deep respect, we gather to celebrate the life of Ronda Larochelle Hairston, affectionately known as "Lori", of Winston-Salem, NC. Born on July 13, 1974 in Winston-Salem, NC, Lori unexpectedly passed away on September 14, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Elisa Jones; and her cherished aunt, Peggy "Daisy" McAuthur.
Lori's journey of education began at North Forsyth High School, where she graduated as a proud member of the Class of 1993 and actively participated in the North Forsyth Gospel Choir. She continued her studies at Forsyth Tech, earning an Associate's Degree in Human Resources and furthered her education with a Bachelor's Degree from Strayer University. Lori was a dedicated employee at Advanced Technology, Inc. where her warmth, compassion, and strong work ethic touched the lives of all who knew her.
Lori is survived by her loving father, Ronda Leon Hairston; her devoted mother, Geraldine France (Curtis) Dobson; her three sons, Juawan (Mackenzie) Ferguson, Olajuwon (Syndney) Ferguson, and Calvin Massey, Jr.; her beloved granddaughter, Brielle Ferguson; also mourning her loss are her two sisters, Rhonda Wiggins and Renita (Brian) Fulp; her cherished nephew, Amaury Dobson; extended family including Robert Bellamy and James Hauser; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
Lori lived a life as vibrant as her radiant smile and as bold as her impeccable style. Affectionately known as "First Lady", she possessed an infectious personality that brightened every room she entered. Her elegance, grace, and warmth left a lasting impress on everyone she encountered. Lori's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Memorial services will be held at 12:30pm Monday, September 22, 2025 at New Birth Worship Center, East Bend, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 12:30pm on Monday at the Church.
