Obituary

Ronald Ray Wallace was born April 24, 1950, in Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his parents James B. Wallace, Jr., and Jennie R. Wallace. He departed this life December 6, 2021.

Ronnie graduated from Anderson Senior High School in 1968, and after graduation joined the US Army. While in the Army, he served as a military police officer with the Special Canine Unit. He served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1970.

Ronnie was formerly a member of Middlefork Christian Church where he served as a choir member and an usher. He later joined Christ Kingdom Building Worship Center. His favorite pastime was cooking and discovering new dishes! He loved to cook large meals and invite people over to eat and enjoy. Ronnie had a big heart and would always help people when he could. For example, when he lived in a senior apartment building, he would stop by and gather the resident's trash for disposal, and also arise early and put their newspapers at their doors.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Robina Bowden Wallace; three stepchildren, Janice Bowden of Winston-Salem, Tamaris Bowden of Cincinnati, OH and Marcus Bowden of Lexington, NC; one brother, Donald Wallace of Winston-Salem, NC; four sisters, Beverly (Bernard) Wallace, Laverne Smoot, Karen Marshall all of Winston-Salem, NC, and Pastor Barbara (Bishop Daniel B.) Salley of Accokeek, MD; one aunt, Rose Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
