Ronald E. Thomas, 59 died on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
He was born July 13, 1950 to James C. and Julia Thomas. He was a lifetime resident of Winston-Salem, NC where he worked at RJ Reynolds until retiring in 1993 and began a second career as a long distance truck driver. He enjoyed bingo and fishing.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, John Henry and Rose Anna Thomas, Thomas J. and Hattie Wilkins; and his sister, Mary Helen Thomas.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his devoted wife, Katrina C. Thomas; his son, Ronald Thomas, Jr.; daughter, Arkatheia Denise Thomas; sisters, Joan Dubose, Sue Cook, and Martha K. (Robert) Brown; one brother, James (Nancy) Thomas; sisters-in-law, Queen Smith and Ardeicha (Cecil) Oliver; brothers-in-law, Andrew (Lora) Carr, Matthew (Cynthia) Williams all of Winston-Salem, NC, Michael (Carol) Williams of Youngsville, NC; mother-in-law, Ruby C. Williams; aunts, Martha Kay (Norris) Gullick, Izora Glenn, and Ilene Nifong; uncles, Reverend Melvin "Rip" (Grace) Wilkins, Richard (Mary) Wilkins, Oscar (Vivian) Wilkins of New York, Thomas (Grace) Wilkins of Ennice, NC, and William Thomas of Bronx, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11am Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Nick Speas officiating. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11am on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Winston-Salem, NC.
