Roland Jackson, also known as "Ron" and "Ronald", was born in Winston-Salem, NC on November 19, 1971 to Diane Jackson and Robert Mickens.  He departed his life on September 4, 2017.

He graduated from RJ Reynolds High School and moved to Atlanta, GA in 1998 where he studied Business Administration at AIU Buckhead.  He worked at Atlanta Gastroenterology for many years until his health failed.

To know Ronald was to love him.  He was admired by all who came in contact with him.  His presence will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Nannie Lee Mickens; and his maternal grandfather, Richard Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Diane Jackson and Robert Mickens; two sons, Quiton Covington and Mitchel Covington; three grandchildren; three sisters, Sharrika Jackson, Tranea Bray, and TaKiela Huntley; one brother, Johnathon Jackson; four nieces including a special niece, Tashara Williams; one nephew; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Apostle Richard Mickens officiating. The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2:00pm on Friday at the Chapel.
