IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roger Lenell
Roseborough, Jr.
February 18, 2024
As the sun dipped below the horizon on Sunday, February 18, 2024, in Jacksonville, FL, it also set on the extraordinary life of our beloved Roger Lenell Roseborough Jr. Born on March 22, 1975, in Winston Salem, NC, Roger's journey was illuminated by the joy of Little League baseball and Pop Warner football, igniting passions that would shape his remarkable life.
As a graduate of North Forsyth High School, Roger's spirit soared on the football field, adorned in a #34 jersey. His path led briefly through Winston Salem State University before embarking on a noble career in the United States Navy. For two decades, STS1 Roseborough dutifully served as a sonar technician aboard esteemed vessels such as the USS Wyoming and USS Pennsylvania, etching his legacy with honor and dedication.
After retiring from his commendable military service, Roger's professional journey continued with General Dynamics Mission Systems and Lockheed Martin, culminating in his role as a Quality Assurance Inspector for Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic. Yet amidst all the accolades and career accomplishments, Roger's heart truly belonged to his role as a husband and father extraordinaire. He lifted our spirits with his infectious humor, wisdom, support, and guidance. His devotion to his family knew no bounds.
Joined in heavenly reunion by his cherished grandparents, Pride and Susanna Roseborough, and Juanita Robinson. Roger now watches over us with a mischievously proud grin and a twinkle in his eye. He found solace in the comforting embrace of his faith as a member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church. Roger leaves behind a family tree deeply rooted in love and resilience. He is survived by his devoted parents, Roger and Vickie Roseborough; his younger brother Pride Roseborough; and his adored wife, Ezellette Roseborough. Among the treasures he held most dear are his five daughters: Yasmine (Troy) Blackstone, Toi, Winter, Kelia, and Aalayah Roseborough; alongside four grandchildren, Savanna and Samara Blackstone, Ava Crews, and Yoshiyayahu Lowe.
Though Roger left this earthly stage sooner than expected, his memory lives on in the laughter of his loved ones and the countless lives he touched along the way. May the radiant memory of Roger continue to illuminate our paths, inspiring hearts, and minds with the enduring warmth of his love, forever resonating with those blessed to have known him.
