John 15:13-Greater Love Hath No Man Than This, That A Man Lay Down His Life For His Friends.

Rodney Darrell Lash was born in Stokes County, NC on May 14,1961 to Walter L. and Demeatrice W. Lash.  He unexpectedly departed this earthly life at his home on July 12, 2021.

Rodney, also known as "Big Rodney", attended Stokes County Schools and was an independent contractor. Rodney met the love of his life, Lisa, in May of 1991 and they were married December 19, 1991.  To their union one son, Rodney II, was born.

Rodney was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents; his mother & fathers-in-law; four uncles; two aunts; four cousins; and one special cousin, Charlotte L. Martin whom he called his "Teddy Bear".

Rodney leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Lisa Gould Lash of the home; his loving son, Rodney Darrell Lash II of Winston-Salem, NC; one sister, Sandra Denise Lash-Joyner of Reidsville, NC; one brother, Timothy Eugene Lash of Bowie, MD.; two brothers-in-law, James Berkley (Penelope) Gould of Hamlet, NC and Herbert (Mildred) Gould of Bennettsville, SC; one sister-in-law, Linda (John) Poindexter of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rodney loved the outdoors. He loved to fish, ride motorcycles and always showed a passion for landscaping. Rodney loved his family and friends dearly. He was a pillar in the family, always contacting everyone to help keep family together. Rodney was very creative; loved to see flowers bloom and had a green thumb. He loved to build from the ground up and enjoyed his workmanship.

Rodney was a Jack of All Trades. Anytime he was needed he was there without a complaint with high energy and spirit.  Rodney will always be missed and forever in our hearts.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Friday, July 16, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private funeral services will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021. The service will be live streamed on the Russell Funeral Home Facebook page starting at 11:00am.
