Mrs. Roberta Frances Crumpton Reich was born in Fairfield County to the late Amos and Viola Whitener Crumpton on August 30, 1933. She was suddenly called home on Tuesday, December 1, 2009.
Roberta attended Fairfield County Schools and continued her education at Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina. Roberta was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church. She retired from Forsyth Medical Park where she worked as a surgical technician. She was married to the late James W. Reich, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Julia Vaugh, Ozzie Lee Crumpton, and Helen Glenn; her brothers, Earl Crumpton, Leon Crumpton, Willie Crumpton, Glover Crumpton, and Alfred Crumpton; her father-in-law, James Reich; her mother-in-law, Lillie Mae Reich; and her sister-in-law, Evelyn Reich.
She leaves to cherish in her memory, her godchild, Charlene Duncan; grand-godchild Ashley Duncan, of Winston-Salem, NC; her sister, Jean Robinson, of Jenkinsville, SC; her brother, Amos (Mamie) Crumpton, of Winston-Salem, NC; her step-children, Cynthia Love, Cassandra Moore, Cheryl Tillman (Alfred), James Reich, Jr. (Sharon), Terry Reich (Cassandria) and Faye Teal, all of Winston-Salem, NC; her two devoted nieces, Debbie Carolina and Shevella Riwdy; four sisters-in-law; one aunt; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, December 5, 2009 from Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. J.L. Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:30PM until 1:00PM on Saturday at the church.
