Lieutenant Robert Wayne Twitty was born August 1, 1962 in Winston-Salem, NC to Thurman and Thelma Twitty.  He departed this life and received his heavenly wings on October 15, 2020.

Lt. Twitty was a 1980 graduate of East Forsyth High School.  He joined the Forsyth County Sheriff Department in 1986.  He also severed his community as a school resource officer with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System.  He retired in 2008 after 22 years of service.  He was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church until his prolonged illness. He touched many people with his generosity and kind spirit.  Lt. Twitty left a legacy of compassion and harmony showing how to lead with the heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Thelma Twitty; and his siblings, Audrey, Charmaine, CarolAnn, Thurmond, Jr., and Oscar.

He was a devoted husband, father, and Pa.  He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Angie Twitty; daughter, Phylicia Twitty; stepchildren, Kenya (David) Heck and Wayne Jones; grandchildren, Cam'Ryn Twitty, Kennedy Heck, and Daaiyah Heck; and a host of relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, October 22, 2020 in Piedmont Memorial Gardens with Pastor Curtis Friday officiating.

The family of Lt. Robert Twitty would like to thank the Forsyth County Sheriff Department and the staff of Northside Dialysis Center for their extended love and support. They are eternally grateful for the many acts of kindness shown during this hour of bereavement.

He fought a good fight so for the last time Lt. Twitty signing out 10-42.
