Brother Robert Lane Smith, Jr., also known as "Sho'nuff", was born to Fannie Mae Smith and Robert Lane Smith, Sr. in Winston-Salem, NC on September 19, 1952. Brother Robert was the third of three children. He departed this life on October 18, 2015 at his residence.
He was a graduate of Atkins High School Class of 1971. Soon after graduating high school Robert went straight to work. He started his career as a photographer. He also worked at K&W for a few years and later worked at Hanes Brand as a machine technician.
Outside of Robert's responsibilities, he enjoyed numerous activities. He spent most of his days traveling around Winston-Salem where he built bonds with people from different backgrounds. When "Sho'nuff" wasn't out traveling, he would be at home relaxing and listening to music. He enjoyed long conversations on the phone. Robert wasn't called "Sho'nuff" for nothing; he really knew how to entertain you. "Sho'nuff" surely knew how to show out. He often didn't mind showing off his vocal talent.
Brother Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Rainal Devon Williamson.
Precious memories will be cherished by his two sons, Robert Bohannon of Greensboro, NC and Roberto Williamson of W-S, NC; three granddaughters, Malika Poindexter and Erica Kellogg both of Greensboro, NC and Sania Williamson of W-S, NC; sibling, Judy Smith of W-S, NC; uncle, Dr. W. Ruffin Turner of Raleigh, NC; niece, Alexandria Smith and nephew, Dwayne Smith both of Rural Hall, NC; and a host of cousins and friends.
