Obituary

Robert Lee Scotton fondly known as "Pinto" was born on October 14, 1945 in East Spencer, NC. He was the fifth child born to the parents of Rev. Vertice Adam Scotton and Maggie Bell Price Scotton both whom preceded him in death along with his brother, Vertice "Sunny" A. Scotton.

He was formally educated in the Rowan-Salisbury Public School System where he graduated in 1963 from Dunbar High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in United States Navy where he served until he received an honorable discharge.
Robert was an entrepreneur for over 43 years as a hair designer in the Atlanta Dunwoody Area of Georgia.

Due to a brief period of illness he transition from this life to eternity on November 20, 2014 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. He will be sincerely missed by his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Deneane Brown; three grandsons, Marcus, Devin, and Joshua; one great-grandson, Christian; one uncle, Mr. Floyd Johnson of Winston-Salem, NC; two sisters, Carrie Hicks of Kernersville, NC and Maggie (Lovie) Reid; two brothers, Amit R. Scotton and Paul (Christine) Scotton all of Salisbury, NC; along with a host of nieces, nephews and many dear family members and cherished friends.

Memorial services will be held at 12noon Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
