Robert Mack Pitts, III was a native of Charleston, SC born April 25, 1962. He was the son of Rev. Dr. Robert Mack, Jr. and Charlotte Pitts.

Robert attended public schools in Charleston, SC and he graduated from Winston-Salem State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986.

In 1982, being led by the Lord, Robert joined the Macedonia Worship Center (A True Vine Pentecostal Holiness Church of God) under the leadership of Senior Pastor Apostle Sylvester Johnson. In the early 90's to the present, Robert served as minister of music to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Daryl Young for over 25 years.

Robert was employed at Wachovia Bank and worked there for over 25 years.

Robert's hobbies were shopping, playing the organ, bowling, socializing, joke pranks, calling people on the phone singing their favorite Robert Pitts song, and he cherished his love for his family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his loving parents, Rev. Dr. Robert M. Pitts, Jr. and Charlotte M. Pitts; and adopted parents, Ernest and Magareen Wilkins; and brother, Bishop Willie Roger Wilkins.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory his uncles Dr. Bernell Jones, Dr. Arnell Jones, and Welton Jones; an aunt, Lutel Lily; sisters, Ester (Janava) Deberry, Evette (James) Davenport, Jeanette (Wesley) Mullens, Jennifer Wilkins, Felicia Westmoreland, Katina Wilkins, and Carolyn Thomas; his brothers, Ernest W. (Deborah) Wilkins, Jr., Roy (Sheronee') Wilkins, Sr., and Brian Spriggs; his godson, George Green; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, December 18, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
