Mr. Robert Murray, Jr. affectionately known to family and friends as "Bob" was born to Robert Murray, Sr. and Maybelle Murray on November 3, 1929 in Mullins, SC. He passed away June 28, 2010.
Mr. Murray was a member of the United States Armed Forces and was a faithful member of the American Legion Post 220 for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willie and Thomas Murray; sisters, Minnie Reed and Virginia Bowens; step-son, Robert Lofton; and grandson, Eithona Ridgill.
He leaves to cherish many dear memories with the love of his life his wife, Lula Mae Murray; his daughter, Gale Murray-Ridgill; step-daughter, Doris Stubbs; grandchildren, Felicia Ridgill, Tony Stubbs, and Tisa Stubbs-givens; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Paul A. Lowe, Jr. officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to all his caregivers from the Hospice Care Center and Mr. Willie L. "Bill" Brown in his time of need.
