A Husband, a Father, a Grandfather, and a true Man of God, Reverend Robert Lee Moore, Sr. 89, passed away Monday Morning, January 30, 2023 to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born July 6, 1933, to the late Ed and Mary Moore in Statesville, NC, and grew up in Winston-Salem, NC. He graduated from Atkins High School in 1953 to enter the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1960. After serving his country, he married the love of his life; Mable Matthews, and to this union four children were born. In 1976, he was called into the ministry under the late Rev. I.C. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 33 years of service and from Wake Forest University with 25 years of service. He was a dedicated member and Associate Minister of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years. He was a former Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the Male Chorus, Baptist Training Union, Tuesday Night Teachers Meeting, and the Wednesday Night Bible Study. Our Dad's biggest pride was his family, as he took great care of his wife of 52 years prior to her death, his children, and his grandchildren. He was an inspiring encourager to people of all walks of life. He will be remembered as a Man of God who preached the Word of God unequivocally in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
