Mr. Robert Jerome Lampkins, 58 of 2205 24th Street, known to his many friends as "Pig" passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011.
He was a native of Winston-Salem, NC and had lived in the city all of his life. He visited Pleasant Union Church. He was educated in the local public schools and was employed by Triad Publisher.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lampkins; his mother, Thelma L. Pearson; and a brother, Darryl Lampkins.
Surviving are his daughter, Shanna Canty; three grandchildren, Cortez, Zykeria, and Tyshea; his father, Roger Lampkins, Sr.; three brothers, Roger Lampkins, Jr., Reginald Lampkins, and Barry Lampkins; three sisters, Cynthia Lampkins, Michelle Lampkins, and Chanda Pearson; his stepfather, Harold Pearson; two sisters-in-law, Patsy and Robin Lampkins; two aunts, Reverend Barbara Wardlow and Betty Dickens; a devoted friend, Demetric Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 11:30am on Friday at the funeral home.
