Mr. Robert Lee Henry, 86, was born June 23, 1929 in Winston-Salem, NC to Clay Henry & Willie Mae Henry. He departed this life peacefully on June 18, 2016 in Virginia Beach, VA.

Robert was employed by McLean Trucking Company for 25+ years before working for the WS/FCS System in which he retired. Golf was his passion sport of choice and the love he held for his grandchildren can never be replaced. Robert spent the last five years of his life enjoying the beachfront of Virginia Beach, VA where he resided with his daughter and granddaughter as they were his primary caregivers.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Mae Henry; and his sister, Dorothy Dandridge.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Kay Francis Sockwell, Wanda L. Henry, and Monica D. Rousseau; a devoted granddaughter, Kendra Rousseau; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Aretta Lewis; and a host of relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, June 27, 2016 at Dellabrook Presbyterian Church with Dr. Carlton A.G. Eversley officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:00am on Monday at the Church.
