Mr. Ricky Levon Harris, 35, affectionately known as "Boo Boo", passed away Friday, July 27, 2007 after a brief illness. He was born in Forsyth County on June 30, 1972 to Willie and Carolyn Harris. He attended West Forsyth High School and was employed by Budd Services until his health declined.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Harris; grandfather, John Chisolm; and a niece, Trenisha "Bal-Bal" Ross.
He leaves his memories to be cherished by his mother and friend, Carolyn Crockett Harris of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Malai Mock; two grandmothers, Mary Lee Crockett and Mary Frances Barr; four siblings, Carol, Renee (twin sister), Jermaine and Tremaine Harris; a great aunt, Bertha Crockett; four aunts, Beverly Walls (Reginald), Johnnie Mae, Mary Lou, and Ninetta Crockett; two uncles, Robert Barr (Marilyn) and Aaron Harris; two nieces, Makayla Young and Jenisha Ross; four nephews, Raymond Harris, Frederick Flemming, Jermaine and Travon Ross; three great-nephews; four devoted cousins, Keschia, Willette and Willis Crockett of the city and Autereo Crockett of Washington, DC; a special friend, Fenice Murphy and a devoted friend, Cedric Barksdale and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday, August 2, 2007 from the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Claude D. Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Thursday at the Chapel.
