On July 19, 2009, God unexpectedly sent an angel to take our beloved Rickie Waddell Foote to his heavenly home. Rickie recently celebrated his 60th birthday on July 11. He graduated from Atkins High School in 1969 and retired from RJR Tobacco Company after 35 years of service. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for old cars and loved to work on them.
Rickie was preceded in death by his mother, Ola Mae Foote, his father, Sylvester P. Foote; and his brother, Ralph Henry Foote.
He leaves to cherish memories of him a devoted wife of 31 years, Linda Perkins Foote; a loving daughter, Tracy SaTonya Foote; a loving brother, Buford (Claudia) Foote; two nieces, Bonita Foote Moore of Bowie, MD and Tonya Foote (Chuck) Little of Kernersville, NC; two nephews, Buford Foote, III of Bowie, MD and Montee (Aisha) Foote of Charlotte, NC; a host of aunts and uncles, Naomi Frost, Cal Foote, Elizabeth Dalton all of Mocksville, NC, Cleo (Sylvester) Palmer of Brooklyn, NY, Richard Martin, Essie Waddell Linville, Patricia Ann Martin all of Winston-Salem, Clara Martin of Greensboro, NC, Mary Bobbie Martin of Philadelphia, PA, and Patricia Mabe Martin of Kernersville, NC; a loving mother-in-law, Mrs. Magnolia Perkins of the city; sisters and brothers-in-law, Julia (James) Chisholm, James (Priscilla) Perkins, Arnita (Douglas) Ingram, Isolar Perkins, Luzelle Perkins, Lee Ethel Wilcox, and Darrell Gwyn all of the city. Rickie has a host of relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday, July 24, 2009 from the Shiloh Baptist Church, 916 E. 12th Street with Reverend Dr. Paul A. Lowe, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Friday at the Church.
