Richard O. Wilder, 67, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. Born on August 25, 1958, to Andrew N. Wilder and Dorothy J. Wilder, Richard's life was rooted in family, hard work, and quiet strength.

From an early age, Richard carried forward the values instilled in him by his parents—love, integrity, perseverance, and kindness. He grew up with a deep appreciation for family and community, qualities that shaped the man he became. Whether offering a steady hand in times of need or sharing a warm laugh at family gatherings, Richard's presence brought comfort and connection to those around him.
Above all, Richard was a devoted father to his daughter, Tia M. Wilder. She was the light of his life, and he took great pride in her accomplishments and the woman she has become. His love, guidance, and steady presence will remain with her always.

He was known for his ambition and generosity. Friends and family will remember his thoughtful advice, his patient listening, and his unwavering loyalty. Richard believed that life's greatest accomplishments were measured not in accolades but in the relationships nurtured over time.

He now joins his father, Andrew; sisters, Deborah and Bernita Wilder; and his brother-in-law, Anthony Burbank in eternal rest.

Richard is survived by his beloved daughter, Tia Wilder; his mother, Dorothy Wilder; his siblings, Andrew N. (Olivia) Wilder, and Belva W. Burbank; his nephew, Nathan D. McNair; three nieces, Danielle N. Burbank, Tiffani N. Wilder, and Andrea N. Wilder; he also leaves behind three great-nephews, two great-nieces, and a great-great niece along with his aunt, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, February 27, 2026 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
