Richard Thomas, also known as "Eagle Eye", departed his life December 4, 2024 at Atrium Health-Wake Forest Baptist.

Richard went to and graduated from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.  He worked at Winston-Salem State University and the Winston Lake Golf Course. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He was also a member of the men's choir and played golf and bowling in his free time.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Williams; his father, Howard Thomas; daughter, Katrina Mickens; and his rother, Howard Thomas, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Barbara Mickens and Carolyn Coley; sister, Alice Thomas; his favorite niece, Lisa Thomas; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a very special devoted female friend of 22 years, Carolyn Goodwin; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, December 14, 2024 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm Saturday at the Church.
