Mr. Richard Henry Patterson, Jr., 87, known as "Pat" or "June", was born July 13, 1930 in Bessemer City, NC to the late Richard Patterson, Sr. and Roberta Patterson.  Mr. Patterson transitioned from this life to eternal life with God on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center.

He grew up in Bessemer City, NC and has resided in Winston-Salem, NC after leaving Bessemer City for 87 years.  He was employed by RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company for almost 50 years as a forklift driver in the blending department.  He will be remembered by all his friends as the man with a heart of gold or in his words, "Aint dead yet, I'm still kicking."

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lethia G. Patterson; son, Dwight W. Golden; his parents; and one brother and sister.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving daughter, Gloria Patterson of the home; three grandchildren, Shameka Patterson and Reginald Gandy both of Winston-Salem, NC and Ernest DuBose of New Jersey; three great-grands, D'Khariyah Patterson-Stevenson, Schane'zha Autery, and Rajzon Gandy all of Winston-Salem, NC; three God-grandchildren, Percy Careathers, Kendra Edwards, and Kenny Pinkney all of Winston-Salem, NC; one sister, Mary Davis of Philadelphia, PA; one brother, James Patterson of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Union Baptist Church with Bishop Sir Walter Mack, Jr. officiating.  Interment will in Fairview Cemetery, Walnut Cove, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Saturday at Church.
