Mr. Reynard McMillan, 66, was born on January 29, 1956 in Forsyth County, NC to Sampson and Mattie McMillan. He resided in Walkertown, NC.
Reynard graduated from East Forsyth High School, Class of 1975. After high school, he took several business courses at Forsyth Technical Community College and attended the Oral Reading Center at Salem College.
Reynard retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company where he worked in the Whitaker Park and Tobaccoville Plants. He was a volunteer for the National Black Theatre Festival as an usher and as a driver in the transportation area.
A committed Christian, Reynard was baptized at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Joseph R. Samuels. In later years, Reynard became a member of Love and Faith Christian Fellowship under the spiritual leadership and guidance of Pastor Michael Thomas.
At. St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, Reynard was a member of the usher board, the Lott Carey National Missionary Convention and the Women's Home and Foreign and Auxiliary Missionary Convention of the General Baptist State Convention. He was also a faithful Sunday School scholar who often transported children from the Bowen Park area to Vacation Bible School during the summer.
In the spirit of Christian unity, Reynard served as the Vice President and a director of the Winston-Salem Chapter of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship International (FGBMFI). The purpose of this men's fellowship was to bring Christian businessmen and their families together for a monthly dinner and prayer breakfast where they offered prayers for state, local, and national leaders. Reynard made many lifelong friends in this group, such as Pastor David (Beth) Beaty of River Oaks Community Church in Clemmons, NC.
On Saturday, August 20, 2022, God called His faithful servant Reynard McMillan home to be with Him in Heaven.
Reynard was preceded in death by his father, Sampson McMillan.
He leaves to cherish most fond memories his precious daughter, Reynita (Rodney) McMillan Blake; his loving mother, Mattie McMillan; brother, Tonnie McMillan; sisters, Deborah (Carl) McMillan Jones and Gwenetta (Kenneth) Blane of Greensboro, NC; five nephews; two great-nephews; a special friend, Emma Garbin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC VIEWING.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Love and Faith Christian Fellowship, 521 Cinema Ct. Kernersville, NC 27284. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. There will be no family visitation during the funeral service. Masks must be worn during the service. Services will be broadcast on the Love and Faith Christian Fellowship website.
