Obituary
Reverend Robert L. Hinton was born March 3, 1927 in Winston-Salem, NC to Boss T. and Mammie Hinton. He went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 3, 2008.
He attended the local public schools and Winston-Salem Bible College. After serving in the Armed Forces for two years, he was a cab driver for Harris Cab Co. before working for Pepsi Co. He retired from U.S. Airways after 24 years of service.
Reverend Hinton was the Pastor of Boxwood Baptist Church in Mocksville, NC, and Pleasant Abyssinia Baptist Church for 24 years before retiring. He united with St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully until his health declined.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 62 years, Mrs. Beulah Hinton of the home; a son, Robert Hinton, Jr.; a brother, Reverend James Hinton of Reisterstown, MD; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30pm Saturday, October 11, 2008 from the St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend James E. Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday at the Church.
