Mr. Reuben Bratton Jr., 73, of 2801 Barker Court transitioned from this life on November 27, 2023.  He was born December 10, 1949 in Winston-Salem, NC, the son of the late Reuben and Annie Mae Bratton.  He was a graduate of Carver High School, class of 1969 and attended North Carolina A&T State University.  He was a retired employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Vanessa Douglas Bratton; his loving and devoted children, Marguerite (Henry) Murden of Winston-Salem, NC and LaKisha (Anthony) Roseborough of Kernersville, NC; three grandchildren, Henry Murden, III and Riana Murden both of Winston-Salem, NC and Kelli Roseborough of Kernersville, NC; one brother, Donald (Iris) Bratton of Greensboro, NC; one sister, Michelle Bratton of Winston-Salem, NC; six nieces and nephews, Katherine (Ray) Agnew of Birmingham, MI,  Donna Bratton and Dawn Bratton both of Charlotte, NC, Janava Price, Fredrina Pinkney, and Anthony Miller all of Winston-Salem, NC; one Goddaughter, DeJaura Hairston of Atlanta, GA; a dear friend, Alfonzo Moore; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, December 1, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Hanes Memorial CME Church with Rev. Clarence Cox, III officiating.  Burial will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.  The family visitation will be held from 11:30AM until 12:00PM on Saturday at the Church.
